Institute of Medicine report on
the future health care
workforce for older Americans
CAGS is committed to advocating for high quality care for older adults in California. This will occur through a combination of collaborative and educational efforts with legislators, health care professionals, older adults and their caregivers, and health care organizations with similar goals
Our Vision
Advocate for:
- Access to quality health care in California for older adults of all cultural and ethnic groups.
- More teachers of geriatrics in all health disciplines
- Advance geriatric practice
- Encourage research into aging in health and sickness
- Promote continuing education meetings and seminars on geriatric issues
- Students and health care providers in all health-related professions about normal aging, the special health care needs of older adults, acute and chronic disease management, and end of life issues
- Consumers of all ages about normal aging, disease and aging, what geriatrics has to offer, eldercare issues, and available resources
- Be a resource for state and local elected officials for older adult related issues in California
- Promote developments and standards of care for geriatric practice
